Boston Marriage

A Boston Marriage was an arrangement whereby two women living together, in what were typically not thought to be sexual relationships, could gain social and legal advantages over those available to women marrying men in the US during the 19th and early 20th centuries.

Just a tidbit about the history of traditional marriage in the US.
